The Summer Palace

The Summer Palace is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens, and palaces, in Beijing, China. The Summer Palace is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake. It covers and expanse of 2.9 kilometers, three-quarters of which is water.

Facts on the Summer Palace:
1. It was first built in the 12th century as an imperial palace for the king
2. The Summer Palace in the Northwest suburban Beijing is the largest and most complete imperial palace existing in China
3. It is known as the mother of all imperial palaces
4. In 1860 and 1900, it was destroyed by European troops
5. In 1912, it was rebuilt again
6. It is said to be the best Imperial Palace in the world

Banana 'n' Berry Smoothie

Today we had Food Technology as one of our subjects. We were so excited to find out that we were making smoothies!! Our teacher instructed us to wear our aprons and wash out hands properly. While we were getting ourselves clean, the teacher wrote out the recipe on the whiteboard. We had to get into pairs of two, but there will be four girl sin one kitchen. There were seven kitchens altogether. We rubbed our hands in glee and got started. Here is the recipe for Banana 'n' Berry Smoothie:

                                                           Banana 'n' Berry Smoothie
For 1 kid

Ingredients:
1/2  banana
1/4 cup of milk
1/8 of yogurt
1/8 of crystallized berries

Materials
Mixer
Spoon
A measuring cup
Cutting Board
Knife

Method
Cut the halved banana in slices. Drop the slices of the banana and pour in the milk, yogurt, and crystallized berries. Switch on the mixer, and mix the mixture for 1 minute. Pour it in a glass, and sit yourself down was an flavoursome smoothie!!

Study Ladder

Study ladder is an awesome website which is all about learning, fun and games. They give you tasks and activities for each subject. They make you learn a lot, but it can be new and thrilling at the same time.

 Subjects
The website provides learning in a variety of ways. They give you tasks and activities for each subject, such as Mathematics, Literacy, Science, Music, etc. They give you activities based on the level you are at. If you succeed the very first level, you will move up another level.

Extra Games
There will be extra games for you to play if you are bored of the tasks. There are games such as Walk the Plank, Spelling Bee, etc. They are absolutely incredible.

Pet Alien
You will have a pet alien. You can name is whatever you want. You have to visit the website everyday, if you want your alien to live. The alien gains one biscuit a day, if you play some games. It will need seven biscuits to go to the next stage. There are 42 stages in all.

Avatar
You get to create your very own avatar. Choose his/her nose, complexion, mouth, eyes, hair, clothes, etc.

Things you need to know
You will need parents permission if you want to log-in. There will be a password and username you will have to remember. And, if you want more clothes access, or get a pet alien AND your very own pet, you will need full access. That will cost you.

It is a really cool website and I recommend you try it. You will really enjoy it.

It has been a long time since I wrote my last post. Since, I have entered my new intermediate, it has become really busy. This school is a lot different from my primary school. There are so many new subjects, activities, and extra- curricular sports. I am really enjoying it here.

I am constantly busy, hurrying of to my next core class. There are so many rules to learn, and the school is gigantic. On my very first day, I got lost!!!!!

I am doing very well at school, though. I am keeping in touch with my old school. I will be posting new stuff everyday.

Another School

Hello Everybody,
Since I am a Year 6, it is time for me to leave Henderson North and go to Intermediate. I will be going to an Intermediate close by, but I will still be able to have this blog. Isn't that great?!!
Anyways, here are the people I am going to miss. I have had fun with them. It has been an everlasting experience being in this school. I have learnt lots and made new friends. I will have to leave most of them behind, since I am going to a different Intermediate:
Sovan, Te Pahu, Kauri, Branik, Mohammad, Mehaka, Carys, Tajae, Francis, Peter, Nathan, Jordan, Aisha, Hser-Beh, Grace, Ammy, Joseph, Sara, Jorja, Parekotuku, Aisea, Khayl, Roselilo, Samaria, Brinal, Angelina, Caleb, Elijah, and Jin. I am also going to miss all my other friends from different classrooms.
I will also miss Mr Walker, Mr Cartwright, and all the other teachers. They have made this year a lot easier and comforting.
I will be visiting the year 5s and the teachers.

Last, but not least, I'll miss Mrs Ogden. Because she has been there for me since I started this school.
